    Description

    A  vintage  &  very  Rare  plainly  Elegant  Black  Cold
    Cream  Jar
    from  the  Westite  Glass
    Co  of  the  1930s .
    Page  96  of  Hardy's  Akro  book  shows  this  in  the  only
    3
    colors  that  have  been  found  to  date .  The  Orange-White
    one
    is  the  only  one  to  carry  the  Crow  Trademark .
    This  Black  one  measures
    2  3/4 "  across  the  top  in
    diameter , and  stands  2  1/2 "  high .  In strong  back  light ,
    Akro's  Black  glass  shows  purple - amethyst ;  this  one
    shows  more  of  a  dark  reddish-amber , as  Westite  pieces
    do ..... ( pictures 4 & 5 )
    Embossing  on  the  bottom  side  reads  "  4  OUNCES
    "  and  a
    small  "  0 "  mould  number .
    It  has  NO
    damage
    like
    chips , flakes ,
    dings , bruises , or
    cracks  .....
    NO  unsightly
    bubbles , scratches , stains , or
    utensil
    marks .  Original  metal  lid  has  very  minor  pitting
    with   only
    one  teeny  tiny  1/16 "  dent  .
